What we need 

The Program Material Manager is responsible for overseeing the development, organization, maintenance, and management of all site material handling documentation, processes, and standards within the organization. This role will interface with engineering, manufacturing, and site installation teams to ensure that systems and processes are designed, built, and installed consistently across all customer sites. The ultimate goal of the Program Material Manager is to meet the high quality and safety standards, while achieving efficient and timely installations. The Program Material Manager will have primary ownership of the SOP process for all site material functions in both structure and automated systems. 

 

What we do 

As a Program Material Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the material planning, procurement, and management for all site materials within the implementation organization. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of projects, optimize inventory levels, and drive cost-effective solutions. Your role will be pivotal in liaising with engineering, manufacturing, and site installation teams to ensure consistent design, construction, and installation of systems and processes across all customer sites. 

 

What you’ll do  

  • Partner with site team and subcontractors' stakeholders across multiple functions to ensure the development and deployment of Standard Operating Procedure Development (SOP) across all customer installation sites.   

  • Serve as the primary leader for the field material management group, responsible for the end-to-end chain of custody of all installation materials.  

  • Supports project kickoffs in partnership with the site team and subcontractors to ensure the detailed project requirements are outlined at the beginning.   

  • Lead efforts to ensure requirements are followed throughout the duration of installation and timely deliver of materials  

  • Train and mentor team members on process to ensure that program standards are understood and executed in the field.  

  • Partner with Engineering to ensure documentation is updated with regular feedback from the site and subcontractors.  

  • Ensure that bulletin materials are tracked and organized to meet the cadence of installation.   

  • Foster a culture of collaborative continuous improvement across all functional groups to deliver customer systems that meet our high performance and quality standards.  

  

What you’ll need 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline required   

  • Minimum of 5 years trade experience in mechanical installation, automation installation or minimum of 7 years trade experience in mechanical installation, automation installation. 8+ years of experience in mechanical or automation installation  

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience supervising or managing teams, trades contractors required.   

  • Experience with industrial/robotic automation projects and ASRS projects preferred.   

  • Strong negotiation and relationship skills, both in directing the technical team and ability to manage and reach solutions to competing priorities.   

  • Ability to analyze and interpret data and metrics to drive process improvements.   

  • Ability to provide critical technical thinking at the team level to trigger appropriate discussions around requirements, design, and process challenges that the team may face.    

  • Ability to travel up to 80%.   

 

Our Environment 

  • Hybrid, travel-based position.   Access to major airport preferred.    

  • Travel is required up to 80% of the time. Employees must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations.   

  • The person taking this position will be required to perform work at our customer installation locations for extended periods of time where equipment is installed and ready for commissioning.     

  • The employee is responsible for owning a credit card and managing expenses personally to be reimbursed on a bi-weekly basis.     

  • The employee is frequently required to walk and reach with hands and arms.     

  • The employee is routinely required to work at heights of up to 45 feet and within restrictive areas of 24 inches. to stand; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.     

  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.     

  • Must comply with all safety requirements and protocols, including without limitation Lock out tag out safety protocols and fall protection safety protocols.      

  • Approximately 80% of time will be spent on a construction site with PPE required (hard hat, safety vest, steel toes, eyeglasses, ear protection, fall protection (e.g., safety harness).     

  • There will be steep stairs to climb into the structure. You may be required to routinely walk up and down stairs to navigate the automation structure.    

  • You will regularly be near railings that are high off the ground.     

  • Subject to environmental conditions, protection from weather conditions but not necessarily temperature changes. Must be capable of working in temperatures ranging from 105° to 32° Fahrenheit.
