Inventory Automation

The SymBots

SymBots® are the main robotic technology that manage inventory automation in every one of Symbotic’s systems. They work entirely in the automated storage and retrieval (ASRS) part of the system, managing placement of goods to maintain high density, and retrieving goods in sequence for correct order fulfillment.

  • SymBot – Manages inventory in native cases or totes up to 60 lbs (27.2 kg) and a max payload size of 24 x 24 x 16.2 inches (61 x 61 x 41.2 cm).
  • SymBot XL – Manages a larger payload up to 36 x 24 x 16.2 inches (91.4 x 61 x 41.2 cm) allowing automation of larger inventory and dual item picking.
  • SymBot TR – The tote retrieval SymBot automates an inventory of totes for each picking and micro-fulfillment operations. It supports tri-zone temperature operations.

Less-than-full-case sortation

Symbotic
BreakPack Bot

The Symbotic BreakPack Bot (BP bot) sorts less-than-full-case quantities into bins for partial case fulfillment. Inventory is placed on the BP Bot at pick stations where the bot then transports the goods to a tote for fulfillment.

Native case handling

Robots handle inventory in the cartons and packaging they ship in. Irregular sizes, soft packaging, and breakable inventory are easily automated.

Variable size capability

Inventory ranging in size from 2 x 6.4 x 5 inches to 36 x 24 x 16.2 inches (5.1 x 16.3 x 12.7 cm to 91.4 x 61 x 41.2 cm) with a payload from 1 lbs to 60 lbs (0.5 kg to 27.2 kg).

Mixed Goods

Less-than-full-case quantities and mixed SKUs can be sorted and automated in totes.

24/7 Runtime

Robots can hold power for 10+ hours each combined with auto-charging allows for continuous operations.

Learn as they go

AI supports continuous improvements through pattern recognition and human-lead training.

Many bots, 1 brain

Each robot is a physical part of the central operating system. The ecosystem of robots work together as a single machine.

Integrate Robotic Technology

Robots for total warehouse automation

Symbotic innovates cutting edge robotic technology when a more effective solution to a problem is needed, and we partner with other leading robotic companies when effective and durable hardware for the solution is already available.

With Symbotic Solutions, integrators are not needed, we’ve already done that part for you.

Symbotic Solutions are complete with robotic arms for depalletizing and pallet-building, wrapping and order prepping, conveyance, and all other robotic hardware for complete door-to-door automation.
