The volume of data processing capability allows Symbotic Solutions to process information from outside the warehouse when building orders that can create even more efficiencies through the Smart Pallet. Pallets are built knowing the retail store layout to minimize time and footsteps needed for restocking, trailer dimensions to maximize cube utilization, the order to load trailers based on order delivery, and other data points as needed.
The Symbotic system also knows the physical product features and when appropriate, handling regulations. Pallets are built to ensure stability and prevent damage – considering: packaging, crushability, size, shape, and weight of each item and placing them to ensure stability of the pallet and balanced center of gravity. Additional business rules for individual SKUs can be entered into the system to prevent cross-contamination, meet regulatory guidance, or other needs.
