What we need 

As the Accounting Manager you will be responsible for the company’s day-to-day accountingIn this role, you will be responsible for ensuring all activity is accurately recorded in the financial statements, supervises accounting staff, will play a key audit coordination role and will oversee statutory accounting operations in newly entered regions such as Mexico and the United Kingdom. This position reports to the Assistant Controller. 

What we do 

The Accounting team is part of the Finance organization, which is a critical financial business partner for the Company. Finance functions include General Accounting, Accounts Payable & Receivable, Internal Audit, FP&A. Our Finance team is a trusted source for financial information and guidance for our internal customers, partners, customers, suppliers, regulators, and stakeholders. 

What you’ll do 

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the accounting team in key areas such as expense accruals, complex intercompany, and stock-based compensation. 

  • Support the month-end financial close process, ensuring accuracy and completeness of the financial statements, including preparation of complex accounting journal entries, complex accounts reconciliation, and review of journal entries prepared by accounting team members. 

  • Supervise the statutory accounting operations in newly entered regions such as Mexico and the United Kingdom 

  • Support the Finance organization through the development of data analytics and forecast to actuals walks 

  • Assist in providing support for tax, audit, and examination processes, including audited financial statements. 

  • Ensure proper application of US GAAP and industry reporting requirements. 

  • Define, document, implement processes and procedures. 

  • Lead various GL projects (i.e. new system implementation, month-end close process streamline, etc.) 

  • Prepare and review SOX control activities. 

  • Improves staff effectiveness by coaching, counseling, training, and recommending disciplinary action for team members; and planning, delegating, monitoring, and appraising job tasks and results in a timely manner.

 

What you’ll need 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or equivalent work experience. 

  • Minimum 8 years’ of accounting experience. 

  • Direct or functional management experience preferred. 

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, changing priorities as necessary. 

  • Effective leader with excellent oral and written communication 

  • Ability to be self-motivated, proactive, and a team player. 

  • SAP experience 

  • High attention to detail is required in managing analytical tasks. 

  • Ability to analyze, solve problems, and adapt to changing organizational and operational needs. 

  • Bilingual in Spanish is preferred but not required. 

  • Hybrid schedule (minimum 3 days per week based in Wilmington, MA office) 

 

Our Environment

  • Up to 10% of travel may be required. Employees must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations.  

  • The employee is responsible for owning a credit card and managing expenses personally to be reimbursed on a bi-weekly basis.
