What we need
We are looking for an IT Infrastructure Manager to join our Infrastructure Systems team within our Enterprise IT organization. Your job will be to design, implement, maintain, and optimize the IT infrastructure powering Symbotic’s solutions, while leading a team to ensure stability, scalability, and security across on-premises and cloud environments.
What we do
The Enterprise IT Infrastructure team is part of the Enterprise IT organization, which is responsible for building and maintaining the core computing, storage, virtualization, and cloud platforms that support Symbotic’s robotics and automation solutions. This team ensures that the underlying technology foundation is secure, reliable, and scalable to meet the needs of Symbotic’s engineering, operations, and customer deployments worldwide.
What you’ll do
- Manage a team of infrastructure engineers while managing complex IT projects end-to-end.
- Oversee administration and optimization of servers, storage (SAN/NAS), and backup solutions.
- Manage virtualization platforms (VMware, OpenShift, OpenStack) and container platforms (Kubernetes).
- Implement automation strategies (Ansible, Terraform, scripting) to streamline provisioning and operations.
- Support and optimize cloud infrastructure (Azure, GCP), focusing on cost, performance, and security.
- Ensure high availability, performance, and security across IT infrastructure systems.
- Provide expert-level troubleshooting and manage vendor relationships for hardware, software, and cloud services.
- Maintain documentation and deliver reports on system performance and project status.
What you’ll need
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
- 10+ years in enterprise IT infrastructure.
- 5+ years of experience leading teams and managing technical projects.
- Strong background in compute, storage, and virtualization technologies.
- Hands-on expertise with Kubernetes deployment, automation, and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in automation tools and scripting (Ansible, Terraform, Python, PowerShell).
- Experience managing cloud platforms (Azure, GCP) and core services (Active Directory, DHCP, DNS).
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (routing, switching, firewalls).
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills in dynamic, cross-functional environments.
Our environment
- Up to 10% of travel may be required. Employees must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations.
- The employee is responsible for owning a credit card and managing expenses personally to be reimbursed bi-weekly.
