What We Need
Symbotic is seeking a Trade Compliance Manager to own and lead the company’s trade compliance program supporting complex automation system delivery and after-sales operations across multiple sites. This role is responsible for setting standards, managing compliance execution, and ensuring import, export, and customs activities are compliant with applicable regulations. The Trade Compliance Manager provides leadership, oversight, and escalation support while partnering with internal teams and external partners to embed trade compliance into day-to-day supply chain execution and product lifecycle activities.
What We Do
At Symbotic, the Production Control team manages project-based planning and material execution for complex, customer-specific automation systems. This group oversees material coordination, supply execution, and logistics alignment to ensure materials and equipment are available when and where needed to support installation and commissioning. Production Control works closely with other Supply Chain teams, including Sourcing, Procurement, and Supplier partners, to align demand, supply, and execution across large-scale customer projects.
What you’ll do
Build, scale, and manage the company’s global trade compliance program across multiple sites and operational environments.
Establish and enforce trade compliance policies, procedures, and internal controls.
Ensure compliance with U.S. and international trade regulations (including EAR, HTS classification, country of origin, sanctions/denied party screening, and licensing requirements).
Serve as the primary escalation point for complex or high-risk trade compliance decisions.
Act as the company’s point of contact for audits, government inquiries, and regulatory reviews.
Partner with internal teams and external service providers (brokers, freight forwarders) to ensure compliant execution of international shipments.
Embed trade compliance into product development and change management processes across the product lifecycle.
Monitor compliance performance, identify risk areas, and drive corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
Develop and deliver training programs to build trade compliance awareness across the organization.
Advise business and supply chain leadership on trade-related risks, costs, and operational decisions.
Drive the implementation and optimization of trade compliance tools, systems, and processes.
What you’ll need
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, International Business, Logistics, Law, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Minimum 7–10 years of progressive experience in trade compliance, customs, or international trade roles.
Strong working knowledge of U.S. and international import/export regulations, including HTS classification, country of origin determination, and licensing requirements.
Experience supporting multi-site, project-based operations and new product development (capital equipment, manufacturing, or automation environments preferred).
Ability to balance regulatory risk with operational execution needs.
Prior experience leading people, programs, or functional initiatives.
Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Experience working with ERP systems, trade compliance tools, and customs brokers or freight forwarders.
Our Environment
Up to 20% of travel may be required. Employees must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations.
The employee is responsible for owning a credit card and managing expenses personally to be reimbursed on a bi-weekly basis.

The base range for this position in the posted location is $108,000.00 - $148,500.00 however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package includes medical, dental, vision, disability, 401K, PTO and/or other benefits.
