What we need
Symbotic is seeking a Regional Controller (Mexico) to join our International Finance team within our Finance organization. Your job will be to serve as the primary finance owner for Symbotic's Mexico entity, overseeing statutory accounting, financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and third-party service providers while ensuring alignment between Mexican accounting requirements and U.S. GAAP reporting. This is a remote opportunity, preferred location Mexico City, MX. This position will report to the International Controller.
What we do
The International Finance organization supports Symbotic's global operations by maintaining strong financial controls, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing accurate financial reporting across international entities. The team partners closely with Accounting, Tax, Legal, FP&A, Operations, and external advisors to support business growth, operational excellence, and financial integrity in complex multinational environments.
What you'll do
· Serve as the primary finance lead for Symbotic's Mexico entity, overseeing local accounting operations and statutory compliance requirements.
· Manage and review the work performed by third-party accounting providers, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial records, filings, and reporting.
· Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, including journal entry reviews, account reconciliations, accruals, and financial analyses.
· Prepare, review, and investigate balance sheet reconciliations, accounting variances, and financial discrepancies while proactively escalating risks and recommendations to management.
· Ensure compliance with Mexican accounting standards, statutory reporting requirements, labor regulations, payroll requirements, and other regulatory obligations.
· Partner with Corporate Accounting, FP&A, Tax, Legal, and Operations teams to support budgeting, forecasting, contract accounting, and operational finance initiatives.
· Support external audits, process improvements, ERP initiatives, and internal control enhancements that enable scalable international growth.
What you'll need
· Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
· Minimum of 8 years of related experience or equivalent work experience
· CPA preferred but not required
· Professional fluency in both English and Spanish with the ability to collaborate across global teams.
· Strong knowledge of Mexican statutory accounting, financial reporting, payroll, labor, and regulatory compliance requirements.
· Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and multinational financial reporting environments.
· Experience managing third-party accounting, payroll, tax, legal, or professional service providers.
· Experience with project accounting, long-term contract accounting, construction accounting, and revenue recognition principles.
· Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience working within ERP systems; SAP experience is preferred.
