What we need 

Symbotic is seeking a Regional Installation Manager to focus on managing technically complex and highly integrated customer-facing projects. This role will lead a team using their technical expertise and problem-solving acumen to execute efficiently This individual will find creative ways to implement installations for various customers looking to innovate their material handling operations. 

 

What we do 

The Site Installation team is responsible for delivering Symbotic’s automation systems on customer sites — turning engineered designs into fully installed, commissioning-ready operations. The organization oversees the full on-site installation lifecycle, including automation equipment, adapter cells, electrical and controls integration, and coordination with structural, racking, and construction partners.  Working in close partnership with Project Management, Engineering, Safety, and Commissioning, the Site Installation team ensures that systems are installed safely, at high quality, on schedule, and within budget, setting each site up for a successful startup and long-term performance. 

  

What you’ll do 

  • Develop strategic plans to deliver cost-efficient, high-quality installation services with a focus on Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and People. 

  • Optimize installation site management processes, including planning, scheduling, forecasting, and standardizing pre-sales tools (checklists, RFQs, estimating) to minimize risks. 

  • Oversee on-site activities of Symbotic installation employees and subcontractors across multiple sites. 

  • Lead stakeholder communication, ensuring timely and detailed collaboration between project teams, suppliers, and commissioning teams for successful project outcomes. 

  • Ensure all work complies with OSHA and customer safety regulations. 

  • Drive continuous improvement through post-project reviews, influencing process and engineering changes. 

  • Mentor and coach project teams to align with strategic objectives and shared goals. 

  • Identify and mitigate program risks, develop strategies to address potential issues and capitalize on opportunities. 

  • Establish standardized reporting systems to track installation progress, risks, and escalations. 

  • Lead teams in driving consistency in project estimation and execution. 

  • Collaborate with leadership on strategic initiatives and improvement programs. 

  • Integrate internal and external inputs to achieve critical continuous improvement goals. 

  

What you’ll need 

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, Engineering, or a related field required. 

  • Minimum of 5 years managing new site construction and build phases. 

  • At least 7 years of experience in project estimation, construction, and installation of large-scale projects, with a strong background in process development. 

  • Advanced MS Office, MS Project skills preferred. 

  • Strong decision-making, customer-focused, and action-oriented with excellent interpersonal skills. 

  • Experience in data modeling, estimation tools, and earned value measurement. 

  • Self-starter with a proven ability to influence and implement capability-building programs. 

  • Ability to establish credibility with leaders, internal stakeholders, customers, and vendors, acting as a trusted advisor. 

  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. 

  

Our Environment 

  • Travel is required up to 75% of the time. Employee must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client, other customer locations or our main office in Wilmington, MA.  

  • The person taking this position will be required to perform work at our customer installation locations for extended periods of time where equipment is installed and ready for commissioning.    

  • The employee is responsible to own a credit card and manage expenses personally to be reimbursed on a bi-weekly basis.    

  • The employee is frequently required to walk and reach with hands and arms.    

  • The employee is routinely required to work at heights of up to 45 feet and within restrictive areas of 24 inches. to stand; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.    

  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.    

  • Must comply with all safety requirements and protocols, including without limitation Lock out tag out safety protocols and fall protection safety protocols.     

  • Approximately 75% of time will be spent on a construction site with PPE required (hard hat, safety vest, steel toes, eyeglasses, ear protection, fall protection (e.g., safety harness).    

  • There will be steep stairs to climb into the structure. You may be required to routinely walk up and down stairs to navigate the automation structure.   

  • You will regularly be near railings that are high off the ground.    

  • Subject to environmental conditions, protection from weather conditions but not necessarily temperature changes. Must be capable of working in temperatures ranging from 105° to 32° Fahrenheit.

The base range for this position in the posted location is $150,000.00 - $206,800.00 however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package includes medical, dental, vision, disability, 401K, PTO and/or other benefits.
